What a wonderful festival! Saturday night at the Castle pub was one I will always remember for the sheer excitment of the music and energy of the musicians with the lovely Sullivan D'Abney to make it extra special. TJ Johnson on Sunday night was amazing - such a talent with a fabulous voice. The warm weather matched the warmth of the people of Newark at this fun festival - many thanks to Andrew Hall and the other organisers.

The Sullivan Dabney R and B Band at the Mayze on Sunday night was an absolute delight. This gig was promoted far less vigorously than several others at the Festival, but in spite of this, there was a good sized audience. Unlike some other acts at the Festival who were perhaps a little twee, this band exuded energy, excitement and talent. I understand this was their first gig together. Please Newark Festival, ensure it isn't their last. And other similar acts at the Festival, PLEASE.

Just great to have the Jazz Festival back! We Really enjoyed all the music we attended, especially John Crocker, and all the muscians in the Castle, and Sullivan Dabney with Andrew Hall's band in the Navigation. Also the service in the church and the parade was a wonderful way to begin Sunday's programme. Well done to everyone concerned. Fab Weekend.

Susan and I had a great time. I thought you got the balance of styles just about right, a great opening concert by Enrico, Curios were stunning and I've seen the 'Hot House' a few times, they were as always, amazing. Sunday morning’s Parade to the Castle was a smashing treat, good music and the enthusiasm of the young 'Paraders' was something to behold! Thanks again.

Good atmosphere at the festival! The sessions at "The
Castle" were excellent(Fri&Sun). John Crocker and Bob
Hudson were on great form, and the Dave Donohoe Band
was just great. A highlight was when Teddy Fullick asked
Sullivan Dabny to sing with the band, and he was willing.
His infectious good humour was a great advert for New
Orleans and its music. I hope the festival comes back
next May. Many thanks. S.B.

Had a fantastic time venue-hopping in the sunshine at the festival - which was a great mix of famous names and rising stars. My favourites were the Matt Chandler Trio, I hadn't heard of them before so it was brilliant to discover some new jazz talent!

My partner and I arrived in Newark Friday early evening and armed with our weekend stroller tickets hit as many venues as we could. We had the most amazing weekend not being mad jazz fans but loving the whole experience of live music. The venues were great our favourite being the Castle Pub great atmosphere and some amazing music. We would recommend this weekend to anyone and Newark is a great town.

What a day! Dave Wilkinson, Ben Martin and John Porter, all in one trio! And follow that with Pete Long, Dave Newton and Nathan Bray in the second trio - hot jazz on a hot sunny day - what more could we ask for?
We've seen absolutely first rate jazz today - well done to the organisers!
